HunterHunter really enjoys Soo Bahk Do, she enjoys the challenge. She will be 10 next month and is currently in fourth grade. Hunter and her Mom both train together. Her favorite form is Pyung Ahn Cho Don, and she is very excited to participate in the Salt Lake Tournament this weekend

WMDK_USA_Fist_Patch_CutOut_150x152Martial artists from around the Rocky Mountain region will convene in Sun Valley April 29-30 for a regional black belt test and seminars.  The public is invited to watch the event on Saturday at the Sun Valley Inn at 1 pm Saturday at the Inn at Sun Valley (Limelight Room).   The public is also invited to participate in an hour- long breathing and movement class that goes from 8-9 am on Saturday.  The class will be taught by Master Brian Corrales, a 5th Degree black belt from Salt Lake City.  This is a unique opportunity to experience ancient breathing and energy enhancement exercises that come from Korea and China. Hwang keeHwang Kee was born on November 9, 1914, in Jang Dan, Kyong Ki province of Korea, while it was under Japanese occupation. His father was a scholar and teacher, thus Kee was one of the few young men in the province to complete high school in 1935. He first studied martial arts,  while in school. Following graduation, he went to work for the Manchurian Railroad, where he claimed to have learned the martial art of Kuk Sool under Chinese Master Ynag Kuk Jin. Read more

Wylie Zellers is in 6th grade, and just received his orange belt. Wylie enjoys Soo Bahk Do, and has been training along with his mom.
Collin Young just turned 12, and has been training in Soo Bahk Do since he was 5. Both boys really enjoy the challenge of Soo Bahk Do, and recently competed in their first Tournament in Salt Lake City. They had a good time making connections with other Soo Bahk Do practitioners, and Collin is looking forward to the Shim Sa in Sun Valley, Idaho on the 29th and 30th of this month.
